RIVERSIDE GREENING & DEMOLITION
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Lonestar site previously functioned as a concrete
manufacturing facility, and has acted as the front
entryway for residents and visitors coming into
Memphis over the Hernando DeSoto Bridge. Although
the landmark signage was an eye catcher, the site
was always believed to have a more appropriate use.
The demolition of the current site is currently taking
place to revert it back to an open green space for
public use. It will provide a riverfront trail that connects
Tom Lee Park to Bass Pro at the Pyramid, and is a
piece of a much larger trail system. This land will also
serve as the main vehicular access into the Bass Pro
development. Critical to the future of the Pinch District,
this area will spark economic growth throughout the
surrounding area.
