A TASTE OF MEMPHIS
AT TIGER LANE

5th Annual ~ A Taste of Memphis
“Neighborhoods Commemorating MLK 50”
Friday, April 6, 2018

5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Tiger Lane @ the Liberty Bowl Stadium

On Friday, April 6, 2018, from 5p-10p, we are looking for neighborhoods, faith-based organizations, community development corporations (CDC) and many others to come out and show your support as being part of this great event as we remember the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King’s life that was lost here in Memphis 50 years ago. What can your neighborhood display to help commemorate him at A Taste of Memphis? A Taste of Memphis has served as a platform to share unique qualities and accomplishments about local neighborhoods and what indigenous leaders are doing are doing to help make Memphis a better place in which to live work, and play. During the event, we had a friendly competition based upon the best neighborhoods that best displayed their greatness.

NEIGHBORHOOD BOOTH COMPETITION

This is our 5th annual fun competition festival based on how unique a booth/display area is in concept, implementation, and effectiveness in clearly representing your community. In addition, we want each neighborhood to include their tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. This is your neighborhood’s opportunity to “Show and Tell” the attendees about your organization. You may create a display area that tells the story about who you are and what you do. This will be a time to “toot your horn” about the awards, projects, accomplishments, and especially the rich history of your neighborhood. You may use photos, articles, videos, power point presentations — almost anything that helps tell the story of your neighborhood as it relate to Martin Luther King, Jr.

To assist you with your display area, we will provide one (1) 6-foot-long table and two (2) folding chairs. The registration fee is only $25.00 per booth. Make check or money order payable to City of Memphis (please reference Taste of Memphis 2018 on your payment). Please complete the following information and return the form to HCD/OCCE ~ 170 N. Main St 4th Floor, Memphis, TN 38103 or via electronically to Patrice Woods patrice.woods@memphistn.gov by March 23, 2018. Any questions? Call: 636-6986
