Finance/Down Payment Assistance

  • Help homeowners achieve their dream of homeownership (owner-occupied only)
  • Provide financial assistance for down payment and closing costs to families purchasing homes, meeting the eligibility requirements for the Down Payment Assistance Program (DPA)
  • Have programs to assist citizens with income up to 200% of the area median income
  • Assist City of Memphis Police Officers and Fire Fighters with down payment assistance
  • Assist Shelby County School Teachers with down payment assistance
  • All properties must be located within the Memphis City Limit (some programs may have specific designated areas)
  • Must maintain property as primary residence for a five year period / Lien on property for five years
  • No monthly repayment required
  • Some or all of the funds may require repayment if the fiver year term is not satisfied. No repayment is required after five years
  • Application is made through the first mortgage lender
